How to use the powder coffee maker

The coffee pot consists of three main parts: the lower part, which contains the water; the funnel-shaped filter, where the ground coffee is put; and the upper part, where the coffee is collected when it is ready.

The operation of the GMD Kemoka coffee maker is very simple and identical to the more famous Bialetti Moka Express, Morenita, or Tognana or Pedrini models. To prepare the coffee, you fill the lower part with water up to the desired level (generally up to the safety valve), insert the funnel filter, fill it with the ground coffee evenly and screw the upper part on.

When the coffee pot is placed on a low-to-medium heat, the water at the bottom starts to boil, creating pressure. This pressure pushes the water through the ground coffee and extracts it at the top, creating an aromatic and richly flavoured coffee.

Once the coffee has reached the right amount at the top, it is ready to be poured into cups and enjoyed. The coffee maker can produce several cups of coffee at a time, depending on the size of the coffee pot chosen.

Cleaning the coffee maker is easy. After each use, simply take it apart and wash its parts with warm water and mild detergents. It is important to avoid using aggressive detergents or washing in a dishwasher, as these can damage the aluminium.

Tips for preparing coffee with the Kemoka machine

Use water at room temperature

Fill the funnel to the brim and level the coffee without pressing too hard. If necessary, make holes in the coffee powder with the handle of a teaspoon to help the coffee rise.

Place the coffee pot on the stove at medium power

As soon as the first drops of coffee start to come out, lower the flame to minimum

When the coffee has come out completely you will only notice steam coming out. Then turn off the flame and stir the coffee well before pouring it to mix the part that has just come out with the part that came out first, which is more concentrated.
